In January – March, 2018 the number of international arrivals in Georgia amounted to 1,463,561, showing an increase of 15.5% compared to the same period of previous year. Out of the total number of visits, 659,338 lasted longer than 24 hours (+28.2%). The majority of foreign travelers were Azerbaijanian (-3.9%), Armenian (+15.8%), Turkish (+21.8%), Russian (+25.5%) and Iranian (+63.9%).

A positive trend in arrivals was also observed among citizens of the European Union countries. A notable increase was registered of Spanish +79%, British +53%, Dutch +46%, German +27% and French +24% travelers. Exceptional growth in arrivals was recorded of citizens of the following countries: Kuwait +127%, Saudi Arabia +82%, Israel +77% Iran +64% and China +56%.

During the period of January – March, 131 countries recorded an increase in the number of international arrivals, which in figures amounted to 216,781. Top six countries showing increase of more than 5,000 international arrivals registered cumulative increase amounting to 187,460 (86.5% of total increase).

In March, the majority of travelers were citizens of the following countries: Azerbaijan (-8.7%), Armenia (+3.5%), Turkey (+18.3%), Russia (+36.9%) and Iran (+46.2%). Out of the total number of visits, 292,017 lasted longer than 24 hours (increase +33%). A positive trend was also maintained of the nationalities of the European Union countries. Notable increase was registered of British +74%, German +47%, Latvian +45%, Lithuanian +35% and French +25% travelers. Exceptional growth in arrivals was recorded of citizens of the following countries: Israel +78%, China +62%, Iran +46%, India +43% and USA +35%.

During this period, 114 countries recorded an increase in the number of international arrivals, which in total amounted to 83,154. Top six countries showing increase of more than 2,000 international arrivals registered cumulative increase amounting to 69,173 (83.2% of total increase).
