International Visitor Arrivals to Georgia: January, 2018

 

In January, 2018 the number of international arrivals in Georgia amounted to 444,241, showing an increase of 14.8% compared to the same period of previous year. Out of the total number of visits, 189,476 lasted longer than 24 hours (+ 23%). The majority of foreign travelers were Azerbaijanian (+0.8%),  Turkish (+20.1%), Armenian (+20.9%), Russian (+14.6%) and Iranian (+92.4%).

A positive trend in arrivals was also observed among citizens of the European Union countries. A notable increase was registered of Czech +59%, Latvian +46%, British +31%, Dutchman +28% and Lithuanian +16% travelers. Exceptional growth in arrivals was recorded of citizens of the following countries: Kuwait +131%, Saudi Arabia +127%, Iran +92%, Israel +77%, India +48% and Turkey +20%.

During this period, 111 countries recorded an increase in the number of international arrivals, which in total amounted to 59,053. Top six countries showing increase of more than 1,200 international arrivals registered cumulative increase amounting to 51,175 (86.7% of total increase).
